Massive turbo lag (TD06!! haha...), laughably stiff suspension that destroys you over every bump... not to mention build times and the costs involved. Or saying goodbye to your warranty. I've been there before myself. Sounds like a good idea, requires passion in your idea to actually see it through with all the sacrifices you end up making.
You're paying for factory engineered from the getgo combination of everyday livability and performance combined when you buy a Porsche -- it's freaking fast the way it is and it's super comfy and quiet too.
Anyone can modify any car to be fast. You can buy a 1988 Ford Festiva for $200 and put a Taurus SHO engine in the back seat and beat a significant amount of cars around a track.
I'm not talking about a ecobox modded to the extreme. I was talking about a pretty good modern day sports car (370Z) that is pretty fast, and handles pretty darn good and taking it up a notch. As for daily drivability I'm sure paying for adjustable aftermarket suspension , and a good controllable ecu system will make it a joy to drive as a DD and tuned up it will be just as fun on the tracks. I'm sure there is a few good tuner places around town that can take care of everything for you too! From parts, installation, warranty, maintenance... Still be cheaper then owning the Porsche.
