Edited: Now they're saying it doesn't "stream". What's happening is the selected song is being downloaded to your device, but playback starts immediately causing users to think it was streaming content. As well, apparently Apple has the agreements in place to allow streaming, but decided not to at this point because of the "infrastructure" (possible jab at the past problems they had with AT&T not being able to handle the data of millions of iPhone users). So whether streaming will appear in the final version or will be brought in at a later date remains to be seen.

-----------------

iTunes Match released to developers last night (only in US for now, though).

Biggest change is that it supports streaming. At the iCloud announcement they only mentioned the song storage, syncing and download features, and nothing was said about streaming. Maybe they had some last minute details to work out in regards to licensing. Regardless, streaming has now been added which is a significant upgrade.

Song limit is set at 25K songs, and as before any songs in their database do not count toward your storage.

Apparently there's a rumor going around that if you insert a CD into your PC to rip, and it's in iTunes catalog, then it doesn't need to actually rip it in order to add the songs to iCloud. If that's true, then that'll be a huge time saver for catalogging your CD's. Insert, verify and you're done.
