I'm usually a miso ramen guy, so that's what I tried when I first went to santouka. However, I don't believe they do it that well. It's their Shio ramen that shines for me. It similar to how you describe kintaro, more natural and more meat flavor shining through.
Also, their pork cheek alone is enough drag me back there time and time again.
Has anybody tried out the new place in Burnaby on Hastings near Willingdon?
I have no expectations of the place, but I think it still needs to be put to the test.
