yes it does matter if you're short or tall.
deadlifting, long legs your knees you need more back angle meaning your lower back gets used a lot more.
bench press, long forearms means your elbows need to drop lower for the weight to come to your chest. guys with short arms can have their upper arms parallel with the floor to touch their chest, tall guys need to have their arms pointed more towards the floor to touch their chest.
these kinds of exercises mean tall guys are actually lifting from much deeper than shorter guys.
squats, the body gets used more similar. but still, larger range of motion = more work.
