SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT!
I've watched a good handful of films this weekend.
Drive-9/10 amazing visuals, very well crafted movie except for the generic plot. The main character is very interesting though, Gosling seriously has assbergers or something. Also, awesome soundtrack.
Contagion-9/10 Had some flaws but it made me really think about the consequences of one of these real deadly plagues. And apparently it truthfully showed the process of how the government and officials deal with a pandemic.
Eraserhead-?/10 I have no idea what this movie is about.. It was super annoying and made me incredibly uncomfortable. I don't think I'd ever watch it again, but it definetly has it's novelty value.
Scott pilgrim-8/10 Amazing editing and some really quality moments, but it's a bit too hipsterish and over comic-esque for my liking.
The Guardian-8/10 I enjoy movies involving the harshness of the ocean and this movie definetly had some amazing action scenes. Although the characters and story were pretty generic and boring. The cinematography was really gorgeous aswell. The night shots on the ocean are top notch.
Goodbye Lenin-8.5/10 Cool view of the east/west german era and how it collapsed. Really well writen story aswell. Some of the acting was a bit annoying and bad.
Malcolm X-5/10 Didn't get through it all. 3 and a half hours! Fuck that noise. And once Malcolm starts preaching I really felt that he was being incredibly one dimensional and incredibly contradictory. He was commiting crimes and he blamed it on the white man, he should have been blaming it on himself instead. There was also a lot of really terrible acting in it aswell. Unless you're interested in the character then I suggest you stear clear of this incredibly lengthy blackpoitation flick.
