4S to serve existing 3GS markets and prepaid?
iPhone5 as premium product? Makes perfect sense to me. Plus they've set up all the expensive tooling and machinining equipment to make millions of iPHone4s. The design of the iPhone 4 is very good, so I am not surprised that Apple has attempted to take advantage of it for as long as possible. It's a different approach whereas other manufactureres seem to pump new phones out every month...
HOwever, there has been zero confirmed leak of a redesigned iPhone 5. This makes me a little nervous that they may do the same as they did to the 3G, and simply just release a 3GS type upgrade with just faster internals.
2007 - First iPHone
2008 - iPhone 3G
2009 - iPhone 3GS (same case)
2010 - iPhone 4
2011 - iPhone 5?? or just iPhone 4S?
It would make the most sense to release an iPhone 5 along side with the new A5 chip, and iOS5. Expect a lot of people to be dissapointed if on Tuesdays it was shown only a minor refresh after 16months.
