Just a heads up to you guys. Thanks to this thread, I started looking at my agreement length in detail again and I noticed that it HAS changed recently within the last 3 months although I'm not sure why.

My previous agreements were these that I made note of myself:
Dec 2007 - 2 year contract
Sept 2009 -3 year contract (theoretically due in Sept 2012)

According to the website, my agreement now said Dec 2010-2013 therefore extending me for an additional year over what my own records show.

I called in to the rep and he kept insisting that I had it wrong and that my 2007 agreement was for 3 years and that since I renewed in 2009 again for 3 years, the second contract begins once the 1st one ends (therefore that is how they got their 2010-2013 number).

He then proceeded to ask me for proof that my 2007 agreement was for only 2 years and seemed very annoyed that I was questioning something that is clearly correct in their system. After arguing for about 10 mins, I saw that it was going no where so I asked him to put me through to someone that can do something about this. After putting me on hold for 5 mins for his "manager", he came back and apologized and said someone made a mistake in their system and that I was right and that my agreement now expires in 2012 again, which I confirmed by looking at website now.

So the lesson is: ALWAYS get some type of WRITTEN confirmation of a new agreement that you have with them. If you accept something verbally over the phone with the rep, make sure they send you written confirmation of what you agreed on and the duration of your contract. Never assume they got it right in their system and if any dispute arises you need some hard evidence or it becomes your word against theirs. Also, check that the agreement length didn't change over time. Something in their computer is messed up or someone is messing around. Same thing happened to my gf's contract which now says Dec 2013-2016 which is absolutely ridiculous. I don't know WTF is happening at Fido but looks like she'll need to call in as well.
