I don't understand the "awkwardness" argument. It's like getting a new keyboard...it's awkward AT FIRST because you're not used to it. 2 days later, it becomes the best keyboard you've ever used. I'm using a 4.3" screen and even if I wanted to use just one hand, I can touch all 4 corners of my phone with my thumb. The article implies that you cannot.
Evidently, manufacturers don't expect users to use their devices with just ONE hand otherwise features such as pinch to zoom and Samsungs touch to pan/tilt features wouldn't exist.
