ok so I have a big issue, so heres the story

I have a jailbroken iPhone 4, come home all stoked about updating to iOS5
I plug it in my PC and it gives me some error message about an "unknown device" has been plugged in. So I try plugging my phone into 2 other pcs and also a Mac. Still get the "Unknown Device" error message on the other PC's and nothing happens on the mac. So i think... "maybe its the cable i have...". Tried 2 other cables and the same shit happens. "So ok, maybe my phone is fucked"

So my GF gets home from work a little later, i told her about my phone issue.
She gets paranoid and tries her phone too. AND IT DOESNT WORK either! She syncs her phone all the time and even uploaded some new music this morning. But now it doesnt work!?

so WTF is going on? (yes both our phones are jailbroken, and NEVER had this problem)
