Yeah this is the other way around... less surface area = slower cooling. Pretty neat invention, of course it's japanese.

For whisky I prefer single malts, from Japan and Highland Scotland. All of Suntory's Single Malts are excellent, like Yamazaki 12 and 18, Hakusho, etc. Usually I buy Macallan 12 sherry oak, since it is reasonably priced for really good whisky.
