^ I use Siri all the time now. It's way faster for things like making appointments or setting reminders. There's no way anyone, no matter how fast they are, could ever get close to Siri's speed for basic tasks like this.
You need to do some setup to help with Siri. Make sure you are in your Contact list (inc home & work addreses) and select this contact when setting up Siri. Also turn on location services for Siri. This will allow you to do things like "set a reminder to call xxx when I leave work".
I installed Vlingo on my iPhone 4S to do some comparisons, but it's quite "stupid" compared to Siri. I don't know if Vlingo is the same across all platforms, but the iPhone version is nothing like Siri at all, which is funny since they advertise it as "bringing Siri like functionality to your 3GS or 4".
A quick example? You ask Vlingo the weather today and it gets that right. If you follow it up with "what about Toronto" it brings up search results for information about Toronoto.
You ask Siri the weather and follow it up with "what about Toronto" and it gets the weather in Toronto. You can even say the word "Toronto" and it gets it right.
It's a subtle difference, but a fundamental one.
It really sucks that not everything is enabled for people outside of the US, so I hope they add the rest of the features to Canada soon.
