Regular season isn't just about making the PO's; It's about where you stand in the PO's.
Although anything can happen in the post season, it's still widely accepted that the better the standing the better they make their odds for OVERALL success.
Franchise's that only care about "just making it" are fringe franchises that are banking on cinderella runs.
