That obviously helps, but most people don't realize the muscles and tendons that control and provide strength for your hands and fingers are in your forearm. They run right back to your elbow. If you're not working them hard during your everyday life then they won't be very strong. Pretty important muscle group to work IMO. I get a lot of "why are you bothering" looks doing forearm curls in the gym, usually by guys that need straps
