Alkatraz have proven to be the future of Dance Music. Bursting on to the scene in 2009 with their debut release on Black Hole Recordings, they have been catching the eyes and ears of the industry’s top dogs. Although fairly new to the scene, they have been quietly growing their roots for nearly ten years. Gabriel Maga and John Pirito, better known as Alkatraz joined forces after a chance meeting at one of Canada's top Sound Engineering Institutions.

Despite Alkatraz playing the biggest and best clubs from Amsterdam to Shanghai, it was their original productions that gained them recent notoriety. When Tiesto featured their song "We're Rollin" on his acclaimed ClubLife Radio show it lead to an immediate debut release on Black Hole Recordings which met rave reviews and support from the likes of Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Above and Beyond, Robbie Rivera, Matt Darey, Richard Durand, Sied van Reil and many more. Their next handful of releases 'A Minor Crisis' EP, Requiem/Hunted EP, Can’t Go On and Elation all boast support from Tiesto, Gareth Emery, Dash Berlin, Markus Schulz, Super8 & Tab, Laurent Garnier, and Pete Heller, among numerous other top ranked jocks. Apart from touring and weekly radio show residencies on Black Hole Radio, Slinky FM, and City Beat Radio, Alkatraz is set to release brand new material on Black Hole Recordings in 2011.
