pre 89' 911 turbos were coded 930' while regular cars were still coded 911.

911 --> 964 (965 = turbo) --> 993 --> 996 --> 997 --> 991 (2012)

damn.. those pre 89' cars were so nice to drive. they were actually a challenge to drive normally. heavy clutch, heavy brakes, throttle on the floor... controls are placed randomly throughout the cockpit and switches knobs are placed in oddball places compared to a modern car...

but man, theyre nice cars to drive... especially that aircooled flat six growling behind your back..

when i worked at weissach last summer.. this was my favorite:

1 of 200 speedsters for the 89' model year.. since the 911 has already evolved to the 964 bodystyle, these were last batch of the original 911 series cars.

this is nice too:

mint seal grey 87' 930 turbo.. original owner since new, with 80k kms or so on clock.. car is MINT.
