The reason why I often tell clients to go to 1stdatarecovery (or any professional data recovery shops) is because I don't want to be liable to damages, or because they really want their files back.
I have GetDataBack for NTFS and FAT as well. The program works very well. But there are often times where people really want their files back and don't want to try out these software at the risk of further damaging the drives.
At this point, you have to decide if you want to take a chance, or leave the chance with someone else.
