Looking for ideas I may not have thought of. I have a storage room that is 55x55" and I'd like to do a U pattern of shelves, each shelf 16" high with 6 shelves in total. I want to maximize the storage space in this room, so using precut shelves or shelving units won't work well.

I've priced out wire shelves, Ikea Goram and Ivar shelves (then cutting to fit), and its going to cost me $500 to complete this. I'm looking for a more economical way of building these shelves.

Ideas?
