I personally run a DIR-655 and my neighbour 2 houses away can pick it up at 50-70% on the opposite side of her house. I just installed another DIR-655 into my parents' new 3-floor, 4500 sq. ft. house (w/ 3/4" hardwood floors) and, again, they get great reception everywhere in their house except one corner in the master bedroom (drops to 20-40% in that one corner).
Both locations are in far less population-dense areas than anywhere in Greater Vancouver and radio interference is likely far lower.
