Also 60 gb is nowhere near as fast. SSDs need a lot of parallel threads to run at full speed. That's why 2 drives using the same controller but different flash can be so different. For the MOST part, larger drives = faster
Sometimes you can get 2 'identical' 120GB drives, with the same controller and same type of flash chip. But one may have flash that only has 1 or 2 die per flash chip, while the other has 4. This was the case with
A-Data S511 in my review.
This was also the case in my review of the
OCZ Vertex 3 Max IOPS. The 120GB version I tested has the hot 4 die flash, but with only 8 chips, it wasn't that much faster than the other drives that use 2 die flash, but with 16 chips.
