Thanks for the kind words from the above. Merry Christmas everyone.
For those curious about my situation... Im posting from my phone so I hope this works... It's a little graphic haha
Spoiler!
The reason I'm at the hospital is that my Dad has been there for close to 5 weeks now. Initially having gone in for having his blood pressure too high and getting rushed to the cardiac ward they were able to locate a blood clot in his leg. Following removal, his blood pressure dropped well below normal and being a long time smoker the calcium build up in his leg sealed his artery. Over the next few weeks he lost feeling in his leg and it started going through necrosis while being on heparin and blood thinners. Fast forward now 3 weeks to him being in the hospital. He's now been in surgery a handful of times with no luck, leaving amputation as the only option. So for the last 3 weeks now he's just been recovering... Has had a skin graft as well as undergoing more surgery to cut further along the bone and to remove muscle...
It's been a crazy few weeks especially combined with full time work and my final exams... But it's been the most time my family has spent together in a long time which has probably been the only positive thing to come of this. Regardless I'm happy to have what I do, and I realize things could be worse. The hardest part is just knowing that at times when I see my dad in pain that there isn't anything more I can do to help.
Anyways I'll leave it at that and spare the other details..
