and thats not calculating the labour that went into prepping the chicken and what not.
say they give out 20 peices of chicken away for free a week that equals to 120 bucks a month and in time that will definitely hurt. Judging by their prices looks as if their profit margins isnt that big either.

your estimation is astronomical. i could honestly make 4 pieces of fried chicken in my home kitchen for half that price. just this week i bought a 9 pack of chicken thighs from pricesmart for $5. including breading, eggs, etc... thats still probably around $6. and im not buying in bulk from suppliers like they are.
also, they usually give extras during slower hours, because those pieces represent their surplus and included their waste calculation (every restaurant calculates about 10% for waste). its their strategy for using what would have been wasted to keep their customers loyal, and it works.
and its not like they just up and started giving away chicken last week. they've been doing it for (many) years and they're still right there.
