I grew up with Macs, the Richmond school district was all Mac. Believe me, there were plenty of times where they didn't "Just Work". Force quit was my friend.

They may be better now, but so are PC's with Windows 7.

To the OP: If it's an HP machine, it's going to have a lot of their pre-loaded shit on it. Try removing some of that crap, especially if it's stuff that runs in the background.
