IMO, with cable exercises such as the rope tricep extension, you won't see much mass gain. What has worked for me is close-grip bench press and heavy seated overhead dumbbell extensions.
I gave the "Rippletoe's lying tricep extension" a shot today...and

. Felt it all over my triceps even with just the ez bar.
Hit a personal record of 185lb incline bench press. Felt too easy, will give 205 a shot next time. :')
