When was the last time you've seen a Norris candidate who makes 4M?
Even if it means paying Weber 7-8M for long term, I'd do it. He's that missing top 4, right side dman, right hand shot the Canucks are missing.
Salo is retiring after this season so who plays with Edler then? Tanev? BALLARD?
I know it's impossible to get him at the deadline, but there is a possibility he signs a 1 year deal to stay in Nashville this offseason, becomes a UFA the year after and go where he pleases. Hamhuis did get his signing rights traded TWICE, and still signed with the Canucks with a hometown discount. It's POSSIBLE, Weber could do the same.
But as Ronin mentioned, there is no chance Weber gets traded this deadline. It's more of a realistic situation that I posted above than Perry or Nash coming to the Canucks
