I was at Kunming a last summer with my family but all we did were touristy activities (temples, food, shopping, etc). We went with an Asian tour group so i really don't remember what the name of the places were. We kinda went all over the place from rural to urban cities (we didn't even get to see a fast food chain for the first 2 days lol). One thing you must do is go see their live performances. The one i went to was choreographed by the same person that did the opening ceremony for the Beijing Olympics. Just google it then i'm sure you can find the exact performance that i went to.
