Rick Nash is a consistent 70pt man on a HORRIBLE HORRIBLE hockey team
Heres an interesting take in my books...

only Iginla, Ovechkin, Perry, Kovalchuk and Heatley have MORE goals than Rick Nash in the past FIVE seasons
Rick Nash is TURNING 28 this year, has 8mil/yr contract with 6 years left
Its going to be tough for a CONTENDER to add Nash onto the roster. Most contenders DO NOT have 8mil in cap space for next season. Although from looking at capgeek, it seems that the KINGS could afford him next season as Jared Stoll, Willie Mitchell and Dustin Penner become UFAs next year. But the the Kings have traded away quite a future away to acquire Mike Richards. Most teams with established Top 6 forwards and top 4 D wont be willing to blow up their teams so easily either.

Will the GM of the CBJ, scott howson even have a job at the end of the season is yet to be seen. The bluejackets are dealing with the face of their franchise here. The fan support is already nonexistent, and Rick Nash is probably one of their last straws for the struggling franchise. There really isn't much left in terms of prospects for CBJ, so the asking price for Nash is going to be ABSOLUTELY insane for an established player.

The sad truth is that Jeff Carter is a cancer and no team will take him. Jeff Carter's NTC kicks in after this season as well.

The only bright light for CBJ is that they could try to move RJ Umberger or Antoine Vermette. The return might not be as wonderful, but its a start for CBJ to rebuild around Nash/Carter
