^ ah yea that makes total sense, people been always doing that, like puttin the shot up hoping it goes in and when it doesnt they just call a late foul on you, but in reality just mad they missed the shot and they want another chance at it... real annoying cause it's so obvious it's a bailout call and to me it doesn't make sense, because you can still call the foul and if the ball happens to go in, then it still counts under the AND1 rule..... I've personally done that all these years, I'll go up get hacked hard call the foul, and the ball will go in shit will just count and play is continued, nobody ever says anything that's what it is....
but yea as far as the gather thing, I know officially it's a travel and usually yea I'm actually gathering as I'm catching the ball, one hand extended receiving the ball while I'm setting my feet so it's not obvious at all, in the case of the video it is a pretty extreme case as I did quite a big gather, usually it's very small and firm....
it's pretty obvious why they don't call this a travel in the NBA, it's impossible to catch almost, and if they did they would have to call it like 50 times in a fckin game, cause almost every catch and shoot situation involves this hop step
And going back to the NBA players doing it here's a perfect example of Ray doing it, and like I said it's something pretty much all spot up shooters do, look at Ray completely catch it with two hands and then the little jump gather forward before going up to shoot it, @ the :20 second mark....

lol, yea my little pussy ass baby cross, I'm a fan of the Tim Hardaway school of crosses, quick and to the point... they don't look as good but they work better than the the wild exaggerated carry AI crosses as sweet as they look
yea the only leagues I've played in locally over the years have been the Cambie, Kings and Champlain Men's leagues, they all have refs.... I actually just did finish a season of Co-Ed ball at Kerrisdale, they have no refs.... the worst fckin league ever, just did it cuz my chick friends asked me to play on her team.... lol, everyone calls the pussiest fouls and there is more arguing than on a fcking New York streetball court I swear
