I guess the theory behind splits is that you are able to get a more "full" body workout because you are attacking a larger range of muscles, and secondary/tertiary muscles. With the more focused training approach (muscles that help one another), it's more targeted and you can really punish certain muscle groups because you are repeatably working the same area?
Is that at all accurate?
