iPad 1 was slow, iPad 2 and obviously the new iPad are quite snappy.

Like switching back and forth between apps. Every time I try to be productive with it, it ends up being frustrating. For instance I was helping someone proofread a presentation, so I was switching between the pdf file and the email. Every time I switched to the pdf, it would have to load the whole file over again. So that's like 5 seconds of lag for every app switch. Same thing happened to me while trying to switch between a stopwatch app and data entry.
The extra ram will help for sure. This stuff would have been literally impossible with the first iPad. The second can do it, but not productively. The third might be "better" due to finally having enough memory, but the fact is that the os is not intended for productivity, it's made to goof around with $1 apps.
