Not Asus, but same nearly same price for a GT555M instead of the weaker 540.

If I wasn't in the market for a lighter notepad I would have picked up the Lenovo y570 already. Awesome unit for this price, and much better for gaming then the asus's.
Actually for me I want the y470p (14" version with a better video card yet). You can order one of these off the canadian lenovo website right now for 799. It's on special until they run out of stock I assume.

Despite having a slower cpu the set up with the 640m video card can run Battlefield 3 on high. Which exceeds the abilities of all the laptops posted in this thread.. It "should" be available for around $1000


edit: if you're bent on a asus the N53SV would be a better choice.. it's got a faster hard drive and it's easy/cheaper to upgrade ram..
