good skates and sticks make a difference for everyone imo..

and if you buy totalone skates, odds are they are gonna last a long time for you if your at a low skill level

although if your "just starting out" its kinda pointless cause your probably at the point where you dont even know if you like hockey yet, but for an average player i'd say high end gear does make you a better player
