Never intended for that to be my message. My point was you can't justify Dallas starting the scrum by saying that it was Raymond's fault; they could have just as easily turned the other cheek at that point in the game where it was clearly decided. If Raymond had pulled it off and actually scored, would the scrum still have happened? I suspect not. It would have made every highlight reel as a great goal and not as an unnecessary afterthought, unless you are Don Cherry.
When Henrik no look tip passed through his legs to Daniel who then went between his own legs to beat Kiprusoff for the 6-2 goal, that was also unnecessary and cute but Calgary didn't start anything because they understood there was no reason to (I can't believe I just used the Flames as an example for class).
