The +/- stat isn't perfect, but over a longer course of a few seasons it certainly shows trends of how a player plays the overall game. There's no reason other elite teams couldn't destroy the bad teams and inflate their own +/- in the process, but its just not that easy to do in today's league. Maybe Boston caught a bunch of lucky breaks this season and blew out multiple teams. IMO owning 6 of the top 7 in the NHL in any stat isn't something you can just dismiss and brush-off. I'm willing to give credit where its due.
