Home Depot, Ikea cabinets and the like are alright if you're doing a budget reno, like a basement suite or in a lower value property. If it's a home in a nice area, it's just dated, I would not suggest someone use that grade of cabinet.

I worked at home depot in the kitchen department.
When we designed kitchens for customers, they had a choice between 5-9 different brands which had 10-30 different styles.
I've done 10k kitchens and 60k kitchens.
Home Depot does carry real solid wood kitchen cabinets which cost $$$$.
So I wouldn't go as far as calling it a budget build.
