Any cooking wine sold in supermarkets has been salted; I remember being a kid and it didn't used to be that way, so winos would go to slaveway and buy some cooking wine and get drunk on it.

The Gov't decided to make that an impossibility and made the manufacturers add salt (sodium? whatever) to the wine so that it wasn't drinkable and could only be used for flavouring/seasoning. Bunch of winos died in the weeks following, but the rest figured it out.

So if you've got a recipe, cut back on the salt if it's got cooking wine in it too.
