After reading so many positive reviews here about Pink Peppercorn. My wife and I decided to visit them yesterday when certain commitments fell through.

When we arrived, it was still early, so we were the first customers inside. The elderly server who greeted and served us was very pleasant. Presented us with the specials of the day and engaged in some humourous chit chat.

Anyways on with the food. Since it was relatively early and I had a late lunch, we decided to skip appetizers and go straight to the entrees. For my wife, I ordered the Lobster Thermidor while I got the Salmon Wellington for myself (it was very well reviewed on bcrdukes blog). When the food arrived, we were thoroughly amazed at the generous proportions of food; and extremely glad that we didn't order appetizers. Here's some pictures to make you guys drool:

Lobster Thermidor

While we would've loved to have tried their Tiramisu that night, we had so much problems finishing our entrees that we just surrendered. We'll be more prepared for our next visit.

Now the review:

Food -8.5/10
Kind of torn regarding the rating for the entrees. If I was to divide each item seperately on each plate (ie. lobster + mash potatoes + veg), I'd have no problems giving each one a solid 9. However, each item was extremely rich and savoury. So by the time we were done with a third of the entree, the food felt kind of heavy. Therefore, while everything tasted fantastic, I'd have to dock some points for the combination; it could be better (certain things made perhaps lighter).

Service - 9.5/10
The server was funny, attentive and very charismatic. Also got to meet Eddy and complimented him on his food. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience there.

Value - 9.5/10
Hopefully this doesn't sound insulting. But when I saw the entrees, my first thought was: this must be the Anton's of seafood restaurants. For the price we paid ($27 for the wellington, $40+ for the lobster), the portion sizes simply exceeded our expectations. And at one point, I was wondering if I should just bring half of my entree home just so I could finish off the sides. In fact, I think that's exactly what I'll do next time I'm there.
