The 5th year out clause is player option, so if Lu has/will ask MG for a trade, he's basically exercising that out clause early. Seems kind of redundant because if the player doesn't want to be there, he'll ask for a trade instead of rotting until he reaches a certain year in the contract. The team option for the out clause is in year 7 of his deal where the team can ask for a list of teams Lu would be willing to accept a trade to.

Cody will never be a fast or powerful skater. He may learn to better protect the puck over time. He's got really quick soft hands though. Watching him this season, he has become stronger on his skates which allows him to dangle with more authority and confidence but still lacks the power in his first few strides to really bust out after making his move.
