go to the sports exchange, you should be able to outfit yourself with mid to high end gear for under $500 i'd say for everything if your willing to spend that, and that is for like X60 Pants/Elbow pads, second from the top tier gloves, a nice helmet, etc.
id recomend buying decent stuff right off the bat becasue even if you only play a few times a year from here on it, that gear will last
