I would replace the nut with an equally sized nylock nut. With a new nylock nut there should be no reason to use loc-tite although a few drops of blue would help guarantee that thing would never unintentionally come off without making it impossible to ever remove. And that nut should be installed with a torque wrench to the recommended setting, not just to how tight you "think" it should be!
