You can try Virgin America for LA/SF flights. They fly there at least 4 times a day if I recall correctly. SFO is home to Virgin America and I've flown on them. I love them!

Try Frontier (Not sure if they fly there.) If you're flexible and don't mind flying to different LA airports, try Jet Blue.
