Im looking at the asus V boards because it leaves an upgrade path for thunderbolt in the future...the only integrated ones so far are the Intel DZ77RE-75K and MSI Z77A-GD80 which im assuming is way over my $200 budget

If the voltage regulators are different, then they are pretty much completely different boards, especially in terms of overclocking.
