some of you guys need to get off your "read the books" high horse
Not everyone finds non fiction worthwhile enough to really invest a large portion of their free time too.
I mean, personally I love sci fi and non fiction as much as the next guy, but I would much rather have embedded in my head from reading what happened at the Battle of the Bulge in WW2 as opposed to the Battle of the North Wall or something.
An hour long show is a great alternative to spending a week+ reading a few long chapters.
And on top of that, it's obvious by now that this show is NOT going to adhere strictly to the book versions, so reading the books while watching the show would bring even more confusion to the table. And that's what you guys are suggesting in the first place right ?

If you wanna know this, you wanna know that, READ THE BOOK" but the book and the show have quite a few differences from what I'm reading in here
