Just get this.

Mukii Transimp Series 2.5"/3.5"/5.25" IDE/SATA I/II HDD/SSD to USB 2.0 Storage Adapter - Black - Mukii - TIP-Q120U2SI

Has the usb to ide adapter amongst others as well as an external power supply. Can't go wrong for $19.99. However if you're planning on using the drive a lot consider am external housing for the drive.
