Yeah I miss the old Diablo2 days of farming bosses, but if you think about it.. inferno mode is pretty much like d2's hell mode, except back then you could lvl past 60. They're pretty much forcing us to run hell mode as lvl 60s and the game's current 'hell' mode is just nightmare. I mean from Normal to Hell it was unbelievably easy, didn't have to think or have any tactics. Inferno, its a pain but its certainly doable.
How much damage reduction% do you have.. as in resistances. At first I felt the same a week ago when i first got into inferno, but Barbarians are highly gear dependent, but you can easily clear act1 inferno with stuff u find in hell mode act 4 or cheap ah gear. For the most part Act1 inferno is actually really easy unless you get unlucky with the mob combos, shielding, desecrate/plagued/nightmarish/waller isnt fun.
for reference this is my gear. I got a lot of it from farming act1, certain things I did get from the AH but pretty much boots/belt/pants/helm/gloves and all the rings/amulet are things I found on my own. I can get a 5 stack in act2, and tank decently except for champion mob nagas. That being said, some boss mobs I have to skip, but for the most part its manageable, just a bit challenging haha.
