And I'm pretty sure the OP knows that the motherboard has onboard audio. It's just that a sound card offers much much better sound quality than onboard. I'm pretty sure you would notice if you heard a computer with a good sound card, especially with good speakers.
The videocard doesn't always pull 200W. That's only on full load which most of the time it isn't.
