I never intended to use my Hero2 as a dash cam, but it simply happened over this weekend. The footage isn't that great (see my video above). If you get the open case, you can plug your camera in so it'll record for however long your SD card can handle. As for the file size, it's (more or less) a proper video camera shooting at full resolution. Of course they're gonna be big files...
