What are your thoughts on spicy tuna from your typical Japanese restaurant?
Spoiler!
I've been taught (and it makes sense) that the tuna they use in spicy tuna can be cheaper, and less fresh than other tuna-related dishes. Basically, the spiciness can hide the flavour of a less-desirable piece of tuna. As such, I'm not interested in trying spicy tuna. I'd rather pay more and have toro sashimi instead.
Anyhow, Lindsay went to Ichiro Sushi in Steveston on Day 8, and out of House Prawn (prawn tempura, avocado, cucumber, tobiko, and mayo), Steveston (sweet shrimp, salmon, tuna, and cucumber), and Spicy Tuna (tuna and cucumber) Rolls, her favourite was the Spicy Tuna Roll.
She did enjoy Ichiro Sushi though, and I think that's the general consensus with that restaurant.
