You can phone insurance places if they have certain plates, but plates are not simply bought. The only way you'll walk out of their office with a plate is if you register it onto a vehicle first. If you have plates lying around, then yes you can bring it into your dealership when you pick up your car. You'll save $18 because you wont need new plates.

... I thought the dealership gave you free plates, or do they charge you the $18 anyways ?
