I wonder how much MS "tacks on" for a Win 8 license to the price of their own tablets, or if they will eat the cost to help gain traction in the market. Meanwhile vendors will be paying for a license on every tablet they sell.

I'm pretty sure it won't be their intention to compete with their own vendors, and it will be something like the Nexus, where they put it out there and go "this is how you do it right" while charging a bit more for the product since they don't have to compete.
Either that, or there is very little interest in the OS, and they are completely on their own...
