1) driver is used to driving FF cars
2) FR-S is... well, an FR car
3) traction control is turned off
3) extra throttle is given mid corner
4) the tires aren't meant for maximum grip
5) the car is equipped with an LSD

Add to the fact that the FR-S is factory tuned to be a little on the tail happy side, and I am hardly surprised by the outcome at all. But once again, incidents/accidents like this are precisely the reason why I always encourage people to come try their hands at the autox so that they can learn the behaviour of their cars in a safe and controlled environment.

If/When more of these incidents start happening, I think there is a good chance Toyota/Subaru would start considering the BRZ's tamer suspension components for the FR-S. After all, that's what Honda did with the AP2 when people started realizing the AP1's snap understeering problem, and the change would be much easier for Toyota/Subaru. They might not even announce anything and just chalk it up as the year-to-year running changes/updates.
